Sara Duterte Trust Rating Rises After Saying Absolutely Nothing For Several Weeks
Silence is the message: Duterte’s trust rating spikes after weeks of not making eye contact with the public or the microphone.
MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte’s public trust rating has soared dramatically after several consecutive weeks of complete and utter silence.
According to the latest survey by Pulse Asia, Duterte’s trust rating surged by 14 points after she avoided making any public statements, issuing no policy directions, and maintaining an impenetrable aura of “strategic nothingness.”
Political scientists are now calling this her most effective communication strategy to date.

Dr. Epifanio “Panyong” Alingasa, professor of Political Silence at the University of the Philippines, praised Duterte’s approach.
“In Philippine politics, the less you say, the more they love you. Silence creates a vacuum, and Filipinos will fill that vacuum with their own fantasies of competence,” he explained.
The Vice President’s recent silence came on the heels of her controversial use of ₱125 million in confidential funds. Her refusal to answer questions or acknowledge the controversy is now being taught as a masterclass in modern political leadership.
“Her restraint was brilliant,” Alingasa continued. “No press conferences, no Facebook rants, not even a cryptic tweet. That level of restraint in Philippine politics is rare.”
Supporters were quick to celebrate Duterte’s mute streak, with many hailing her “quiet dignity,” “subtle leadership,” and “refreshing lack of human presence.”
“I trust her more now because I haven’t seen or heard from her in a while,” said Maria Luningning Bautista, 53, a Duterte supporter from Davao. “It’s like she’s working… in the shadows.”
A group of pro-Duterte influencers launched a trending hashtag: #SilentButStrong, encouraging Filipinos to “stop asking for accountability and start appreciating stillness.”
They’ve also launched limited-edition merchandise, including mugs that read: “I Trust Sara. I Haven’t Heard from Her Since October.”
The success of Duterte’s strategy is now inspiring other politicians to consider going full “Airplane Mode.”
Senators are reportedly debating a “National Day of Strategic Silence,” during which all public officials will be legally mandated to say absolutely nothing for 24 hours.
A source from inside the Office of the President also confirmed that Bongbong Marcos is considering a month-long “Silent Leadership Sabbatical” in Geneva.
Meanwhile, VP Duterte herself remains unavailable for comment… presumably because that would ruin everything.
